Naming: Emerald Cruises christens Emerald Azzurra


May 31, 2022 – Last Saturday, Switzerland-based Emerald Cruises christened its first ocean-going luxury yacht in Venice. The 110 meter long ship sails under the Bahamas flag. Emerald Cruises is part of the Australian Scenic Group, which currently operates nine river vessels in Europe and Asia.

Since March 2022, the Emerald Azzurra has been offering its guests first-class ocean voyages. The ship, measured at 5.300 GT, was ceremonially christened in Venice last Saturday. The luxury yacht built in Vietnam has 50 cabins and suites on four decks. The ship is designed for a maximum of 100 guests. Sixty-four crew members ensure the well-being of the passengers. Facilities include an à la carte restaurant, an infinity pool with panoramic views, an onboard wellness center and a water sports boat.

Friends of small ocean-going ships will be pleased to include another attractive ship in their travel plans. Even more: In the coming year, the Emerald Sakara will be joined by a sister ship. The Emerald Azzurra sails eight to 25 day itineraries around the Mediterranean Sea and Adriatic Sea. The Emerald Sakara will cruise off the Seychelles, as well as in the Mediterranean and the Adriatic. The shipping company promises intimate cruise experiences with plenty of space and privacy.
