Port of Kiel: the final touches for Mein Schiff 2 NEW

January 9, 2019 - TUI Cruises' new Mein Schiff 2 has been moored at the Ostseekai in Kiel harbor since January 22, 2019. The MEYER Turku shipyard will officially hand over the new building to TUI Cruises on January 22, 2019. On January 23, the first guests will go on board the shipping company's new flagship.

On October 5, 2017, the first steel block became the new Mein Schiff 2 lifted into the construction dock of the MEYER shipyard in Turku, Finland. Although some work still needs to be done on board, the new building was moved from Turku to early 2019 Kiel misplaced. With double occupancy, the new Mein Schiff 2 can accommodate up to 2.894 guests. The cruise ship, designed by international design specialists, will be christened in Lisbon on February 9th. The first guests will go on board as early as January 23rd to enjoy an "anticipation trip". A second trip begins on January 29th in Bremerhaven. On February 3, the new Mein Schiff 2 will start its official christening trip from there. It ends on February 15th in Gran Canaria. The "old" Mein Schiff 2 still carries her name until the new building is christened on February 9th Lisbon.
