Port of Hamburg vaccinates cruise ship crews

July 13, 2021 - Great caution is still required with regard to SARS-CoV-2. A step towards normality will in future be the vaccination offer for the crews of the cruise ships in the port of Hamburg.

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) informs about a vaccination offer for crews of cruise ships. While currently only crew members of cargo ships received protective vaccinations in the matter of SARS-CoV-2 in individual ports, from now on the crew members of the cruise ships in Hamburg will be vaccinated under the direction of the Hamburg authorities.

The Corona Task Force of the German Red Cross has been carrying out vaccinations on site at or on board the cruise ships since today. All crew members of any nationality willing to be vaccinated are vaccinated. The vaccine is provided by Johnson + Johnson. This is advantageous because the American vaccine does not require two vaccination appointments.
