The new ship, measured at 169145 BRZ and accommodating almost 4000 guests, is the 17th ship in the NCL fleet. Today Norwegian Encore starts its first preview trip to Southampton / UK. With the takeover of Norwegian Encore, the production of ships in the extremely successful Breakaway Plus class will be ended. Special features of the ship are:

  • The longest go-kart track on ships at 335 meters.
  • The largest outdoor laser tag arena (930 square meters).
  • The Escape Room, which has recently become almost inevitable on cruise ships.
  • The Galaxy Pavilion offers interactive theater experiences on 930 square meters.

No wonder that such attractions are the focus of interest on large US ships. Almost 4.000 guests, whether they like it or not, have to be constantly entertained. Another contribution is the musical “Kinky Boots” which will be shown in the on-board theater in the future. So that there is no boredom, other successful shows are on the board schedule.

A variety of bars, lounges and restaurants take care of the physical well-being. You know them from the ships of the Breakaway Plus class. "Onda by Scarpetta" is new to the program. The noble restaurant promises outstanding Italian taste experiences.

Cruise companies have long been targeted by environmental activists. On the subject of the environment, MEYER WERFT announces that the Norwegian Encore is equipped with scrubbers (exhaust gas washers) and SCR catalysts (to reduce emissions). The concept also includes improved hydrodynamics and versatile energy-saving devices. including heat recovery and effective water treatment systems. This fits: plastic bottles are no longer on the Norwegian Encore. From January 1, 2020, plastic bottles will be under a ban on all NCL cruise ships. Another attempt to achieve sustainability at sea.

The new fleet is presented to invited guests on a tour lasting several weeks. Stations are Southampton, New York and Miami / Fl. The singer and presenter Kelly Clarkson acts as godmother. First trips from Miami / Fl. offered to destinations in the Eastern Caribbean. From April 22, 2020, the ship will call at destinations in Bermuda, Canada and the New England states from New York. In December 2020, tours through the western Caribbean will follow from Miami. Norwegian Encore will fly the flag in front of Alaska in spring 2021.
