Karl WP Beyer September 13, 2022 - After a two-week stay in the shipyard, the MS EUROPA presented itself to its guests in new splendor last Sunday. Routine maintenance and repair work was carried out while the ship was in the yard.
MS EUROPA was last in the dock of the Hamburg shipyard Blohm+Voss three years ago. This year, the Azipod drive underwent scheduled maintenance and the ship received a new underwater paint job. A total of 6.500 square meters of old paintwork was removed and professionally disposed of. The new paint improves the aerodynamic properties of the underwater hull; fuel consumption is reduced by eight to ten percent.

Changes visible to the passengers affected the pool, the suites and the floor in the Europa Restaurant. After the stay in the shipyard, the swimming pool is technically and visually up to date. 56 suites in categories 6 and 7, a quarter of all guest quarters, have been renovated. The living areas were gutted and given stylish gray walls and light-colored carpets. The furniture sets new accents. The Europa Restaurant received a completely new floor. Golfers will benefit from a new simulator that promises the best sports and golfing experience in the industry today. The improvements made underline the luxurious character of the MS EUROPA. The renowned Berlitz Cruise Guide has long given the ship a 5-star plus rating.
