Cunard: Queen Elizabeth will travel around England in the summer of 2021

March 29, 2021 - Cunard's Queen Elizabeth will resume operations in the summer of 2021. The shipping company is making its ship ready for operation and will send it on ten cruises along the British Isles and on three so-called "Sun Voyages" from July to October 2021. However, there is one downer: the trips can only be booked for guests resident in Great Britain who have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

The German representative of the traditional shipping company noted in a press release today that the weather report and the sunshine forecast determine where the voyage around Great Britain is going. Travel is currently only permitted within the UK. Guests on board the Queen Elizabeth must live in the UK and be vaccinated against Covid-19. Because of the current demand for such trips and because of the well-advanced vaccination program in Great Britain, Cunard decided to present this travel offer.

During cruises, all guests and crew are urged to follow advanced health and wellbeing measures to protect everyone on board. The program was developed in collaboration with experts, health professionals and scientists and in close consultation with the UK government agencies. Strengthened hygiene measures, appropriate social distancing and the mandatory wearing of face masks in certain areas of the ship are specified. It goes without saying that the crew is also subject to strict test and quarantine regulations during their time on board. The name of the voyages suggests that there are no stopovers in ports. In this regard, the shipping company's statement is vague.
